Kaylee Rose Turney

Kaylee Rose Turney, 7, of Toledo, OH, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on September 7th, 2021, following a five-year courageous battle with Neuroblastoma. Kaylee was born on July 15th, 2014, to Lee & Kara (Vernon) Turney. She is preceded in death by her great-grandparents, John & Esther Drolshagen and Idamae Vernon; her grandparents, Harold & Joanne Turney of Fostoria, Ohio and Robert Pedigo of Toledo, Ohio.   

She will be deeply remembered and missed by her parents; Lee & Kara of Toledo, Ohio; siblings; Robert, Thomas, Devon, and Alyvia of Toledo, Ohio; Grandmother, Denise Hensley of Toledo, Ohio;  Aunts, Kimberly Drake (Michael Alonso) of Buffalo, New York, Melissa (Tevin) Taylor of Toledo, Ohio, Ashley Vernon of Bedford, Michigan, & Ashley Lytle of Toledo, Ohio; Uncles David Drake of Holland, Ohio, Adam and Andrew Pedigo of Toledo, Ohio, & Harry Rawlins of Toledo, Ohio, Joe (Sunshine) Cole of Toledo, Ohio, Randy Jones, Toledo, OH, Zach Hensley of Maumee, OH; Cousins, Heidilyn, Derek (Heather), Zachary (Tiffany), Kaleb, Aden, Hilari, Matthew, Sadie, Brooklyn, Averie, Liam, Cecilia, Mason, Tristan, Christopher. Second Cousins; Cadence, Lylah, Duane Scott, Candy, Alijah, Erik (Melanie), Jerome (Becky), Calle, Daphne (Howard), Gerald, David (Helen), and special friends, the Iron Bandogs and many other family and friends. 

To know Kaylee was to love her. Kaylee was a warrior. The last five years of her life were harder than anyone, let alone a child, should have to endure, and yet Kaylee showed those that loved her what a true hero she was. Kaylee made a difference and inspired all of us to be better people. Our lives were made better by knowing her, and she will live on in our hearts forever.

The family would like to thank the community and everyone that helped support Kaylee and her family during this difficult journey. 

Visitation will be from 12-4 on Sunday, September 12th, 2021, at Reeb’s Funeral Home in Sylvania, Ohio, with service immediately following.  Everyone is welcome to join the family after the service at the Glass City Iron Bandogs Le/Mc at 1758 Sylvania Ave, Toledo, OH 43613 where dinner will be served.
