Karl George Hiebel, age 69, passed away at his home, Saturday, May 24th, 2025. He was born April 5th, 1956 , to Don and Teresa Hiebel in Zainsville, Ohio. Karl attended Grove City High School where he was a star basketball player. He graduated from Grove City College with honors. He later attended Rutgers University where he pursued a degree in microbiology.
Karl loved to watch college basketball. He was an avid reader and enjoyed crossword puzzles and latch hook rugs. He made a point of calling his sisters weekly to check in on them and let them know what he had been up to. He had regular conversations with aunts, and they adored him. Although he was only married for a short time, he and his former wife Mary spoke often and maintained a good relationship. Karl was a member of St Joseph's Catholic church and often served as an Usher. A good day for Karl was a long drive to nowhere with a friend and a stop at the Waffle House for a bite to eat. He had numerous friends in the community he lived in and was the unofficial Uber driver until he hung up his keys.
Karl is survived by his sisters Valerie, Vickey and Leslie as well as four nephews, six nieces and his former spouse Mary Reisinger. He was preceded in death by
his parents Don and Teresa Hiebel. He will be laid to rest Tuesday June 10th at the Toledo Memorial cemetery at 11:00 am at a graveside ceremony. Online condolences to reebfuneralhome.com
