June M Spangler, 98, passed away at Lakes of Sylvania on Wednesday, January 24, 2024. She was born November 1, 1925 in Toledo, OH to Willis and Oleta (Van Tassel) Gardner. June married Steve C Spangler in 1946 and together they raised their daughter, Debra.
June was a long-time resident of Sylvania and a member of Sylvania First United Methodist Church. She was a wonderful homemaker and an excellent mom, grandma and great grandma. She loved her family deeply and was very proud of them. June enjoyed attending her granddaughter’s and great grandson’s sporting events, loved being in her flower garden with the birds and listening to country music. She was “famous” for her gingerbread and cut out Christmas sugar cookies.
June is survived by her daughter, Debra (Terry) Ducy; granddaughter, Patricia (Scott) McCarthy; great grandson, Brendan; and sister, Alice Grinnell. She was preceded in death by her husband; sister, Ramona Ritz and brother, Jim Gardner.
Visitation for family and friends will be Monday, January 29, 2024 at 10:00 am until the funeral service begins at 1:00 pm at the Reeb Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Toledo Memorial Park. The family suggest contributions in June’s name be given to Sylvania First United Methodist Church.
