Judith "Judy" Ann Reitz

Judith “Judy” Ann Reitz, 89, of Sylvania, OH, passed away Saturday, April 15, 2023, at the Ebeid Hospice Residence, Sylvania. She was born in Cleveland, OH, April 10, 1934, to parents Charles A. and Alice L. (Taylor) Thomas. On October 11, 1952, she married the love of her life, John “Jack” G. Reitz; they were married for 56 years until his passing.  During her professional life, Judy was a realtor, was an accounting supervisor with the former Toledo Trust, and served as assistant to the treasurer of Sharon Manufacturing. She loved to sing and play the piano. Judy played euchre and bridge several times a week, both in person and online.  For her age she was quite tech savvy and sometimes was ahead of her kids in the use of tech devices. Judy enjoyed the company of her many cats through the years. She frequently spent time with her many dear friends.  Judy’s biggest joy was her family; she cherished the time spent with them.   

Judy is survived by her daughter Katherine “Kathy”  Gopp; son Graydon (Sandra) Reitz; and grandchildren, Jessica (Marc) Palazzolo and Charles Reitz. She was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband John G. Reitz; sister Virginia T. Harter and son-in-law Larry D. Gopp.           

Friends may call at the Reeb Funeral Home, 5712 N Main St. Sylvania, OH, Thursday, April 27th from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm and Friday April 28, from 12:00 noon until 1:00 p.m. Funeral service will begin Friday at 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home.  She will be laid to rest at Toledo Memorial Park.  Those wishing to offer memorials are asked to consider the Parkinson’s Foundation.  Online condolences may be offered at www.reebfuneralhome.com
