Judith Ann Meinert (Neuhaus), age “39” 86, of Petersburg, Michigan, passed away May 26th, 2023, at Toledo Hospital. She was born October 23, 1936, in Toledo, OH to Theodore and Dorothy Neuhaus.
Judy grew up in Toledo, where she met her husband, Jim, of nearly 65 years while working at Kroger. They raised their five children, Jim, Kim, Tim, Kelly and Karen in Ottawa Lake, Michigan. They enjoyed camping, canoe trips, snowmobiles, dune buggies, and even white water rafting with their friends. They also loved spending time at their cabin in Lewiston, Michigan.
Forty-four years ago, she became known as Gram/Nanny. We truly believe this was her favorite stage in life. She absolutely adored her fourteen grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. They certainly adored her in return. There was nothing she wouldn’t do for them, baiting fishhooks at the pond, teaching them how to “swim” in the pool, endless sleepovers, attending hundreds of sporting events, frying up thousands of “dippy eggs” and making pancakes for the kids, generally spoiling them in every way she could.
Surviving are her children, James (Kathy) Meinert Jr, Kimberly (Scott) Swindeman, Timothy (Pam) Meinert, Kelly Masters, Karen Klumm, sister, Joan Newbury, fourteen grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, James Meinert Sr, siblings Joyce Bick, Tom Neuhaus, Joe Neuhaus, and brothers in law, Ken Newbury, William Meinert, Richard Meinert.
Friends may call at the Reeb Funeral Home, 5712 N. Main St., Sylvania, OH, Sunday, June 4th from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. Interment will be Monday, June 5th at 11:00 a.m. at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
