Judith Ellen Kerchevall, 83, of Oregon, Ohio passed away at Hospice of NW Ohio with her sons at her side, on March 16, 2024, after a courageous battle with leukemia. Born on June 24, 1940 to Donald and Portia (VanNatta) Hampton, Judith was raised in Toledo, Ohio and graduated from Waite High School. She worked as a bank teller for First National Bank and Sylvania Savings Bank for many years and went on to work at Sylvania Municipal Court as a Clerk of Courts until retirement.
Judie, also known as Jude and Grandma JuJu, enjoyed many things, but mostly spending time with her huge family and many friends. You could often find her enjoying a margarita at Magdalena’s, or sipping a Miller High Life from a wine glass in the comfort of her home (with two olives!). She was always the life of the party with endless jokes and funny stories that left many with tears of laughter in their eyes. JuJu was a complete fashionista, and a spunky one at that! You would never catch her without her hair done or makeup on. She loved to always look her best. The words “beautiful inside and out” could definitely describe her. But Grandma JuJu’s favorites were her family. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. She took pride in each role she had and she did her best to be the best at each role. She will be greatly missed by all.
Judie was preceded in death by her parents, sister Helen Campbell, brothers Donald (Pete) and Richard (Dickie) Hampton and several nieces and nephews. Surviving are sons Edward, III ( Mary Anne) Kerchevall and Kevin (Jeanne) Kerchevall, grandchildren Rachael (Ryan) Keaton, Ryan Kerchevall, Haley Vassar, Rylee (Dakota) Sheahan, Logan and Landen Kerchevall and great-grandchildren Mac and Bobbi Leigh Keaton and Nora Sheahan, sisters Donna Johansen, Dorothy Johansen, Ruth Nemecek, Joyce Macek, Shirley (Gerald) Roth, and Rita Baranski. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Online condolences to reebfuneralhome.com
