Joshua A. Smith, a beloved father, son, grandfather, brother, and uncle, passed away peacefully on February 25, 2025, at the age of 49, leaving behind a legacy of love, creativity, and laughter. Born on October 26, 1975, with a vibrant spirit to his parents, Nancy Comeau and the late Jerry Smith, Joshua lived life with a passion and a humor that left a lasting mark on everyone who knew him.
Joshua was a devoted father to his only child, Tyler, whom he cherished with all his heart. His pride and joy extended to his role as “Papa” to his granddaughter, Charlie, and his grandson, Jett, with whom he shared countless treasured moments filled with giggles and grins. As a son to Nancy and the late Jerry, a brother to Nichole Roller, Alex Brandon, and Abigail Bandeen, and an uncle, he was the family’s shining light—known for his quick wit and an extraordinary sense of humor that brightened any moment.
Music was his heartbeat, and he poured his soul into playing guitar, filling the air with melodies that brought comfort and joy to those around him. Drawing let his imagination soar on paper, while skateboarding kept his spirit youthful, reflecting the free soul he carried throughout his life. He also adored his dogs, Klaus and Chaka, who were loyal companions and brought him endless happiness with their wagging tails and playful spirits. Above all, Joshua was hilariously funny, his sharp one-liners and playful antics leaving a trail of laughter wherever he went. Whether strumming his guitar, sketching a scene, riding with the wind, or tossing a ball to Klaus and Chaka, he lived with an energy—and a chuckle—that inspired those around him.
He leaves behind his son, Tyler, and daughter-in-law, Jordan; his granddaughter, Charlie; his grandson, Jett; his mother, Nancy Comeau; his sisters, Nichole Roller, Alex Brandon, and Abigail Bandeen; and a wide circle of family and friends who will forever hold him dear, likely with a smile through their tears. He was predeceased by his father, Jerry Smith. Joshua’s spirit lives on in the love he gave, the art he crafted, the music he played, and the endless laughs he gifted to the world.
