John Francis Zelasko, 52, passed away on September 4th, 2024, quietly in his home. He was born October 20th, 1971, to parents Stanley and Margaret Zelasko and lived in Sylvania, OH for the majority of his life. John went to both Sylvania high schools and participated in the Northview Culinary program which cemented his love for cooking. He was a jack of all trades but focused mostly on automotive and finances throughout his life, leading to multiple businesses and entrepreneurial endeavors of both over the years. He spent time as a Kirby salesman and a stockbroker with J.P. Morgan while he lived in Indianapolis.
In 2012, John opened Allied Motorworks as a specialized automotive repair shop and it was where he spent the majority of his time. He cared about his shop and his technicians over the past 12 years and claimed the majority as family too, just a different form. John loved golf, literature, learning, inventing and was an avid music lover. He spent a very large portion of his life within the Jehovah’s Witnesses organization and believed God would bring him and his family into paradise one day to “walk with the tigers”, as he said. He loved his family and held them very closely.
John is preceded in death by his father, Stanley, and brother, Tristan. He is survived by his children, Alexandria (Daniel) and Grant Zelasko; mother, Margaret Zelasko; sisters, Marianna (Jerry) Oestrike and Kasha (Ryan) Rakosik; many nieces, nephews, aunts and cousins. He will be missed greatly by all who knew him.
Memorial Service will be on Sunday, September the 22nd, 2024, 2-3:30 P.M. at Reeb Funeral Home Celebration of Life will follow at Springfield Township Hall at 7617 Angola Rd, Holland, Ohio 43528.
