John “Jake” J. Jakeway, 60, of Toledo, Ohio passed away on Saturday, January 5, 2019, at Ebeid Hospice Residence surrounded by his loving family & friends. He was born June 23, 1958 in Toledo, OH to John Jakeway and Lois (Langenderfer) Holtz. He was happily married to Katherine (Goforth) Jakeway for 31 years.
Jake graduated from Central Catholic. He retired from Libbey Glass, after working for New Mather Metals for many years. He was an outdoorsman enjoying fishing and shooting guns at the range. He began metal detecting; however he especially enjoyed spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren.
Jake is survived by his loving wife, Kathy; children, Carrie (Bob) Sharp, Raymond Sheets, Aaron Jakeway, Joann (Gina) Jakeway and Alicia Rybak; 17 grandchildren; step-dad, Duane Holtz; brother, Jaye Jakeway and step brothers, Tom and Keith Holtz along with nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be at Reeb Funeral Home, 5712 Main St., Sylvania, OH on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 from 3pm until 8pm, where the funeral will be held Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at 11am. Interment will follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
