John Brenner Obituary

John Franklin Brenner
January 14, 1929 – March 3, 2025

John Franklin Brenner beloved husband and father passed away on Monday March 3, 2025, at Browning Masonic Community under the care of Hospice of Northwest Ohio.

John was born in Toledo, Ohio to Harry and Verna Brenner on January 14, 1929. John lived his whole life in Toledo, Ohio, where he attended Toledo schools and graduated from Devilbiss High School in 1947. John married his high school sweetheart Nancy Irene (Myers) Brenner in 1949, and they celebrated their 75th wedding anniversary on June 25, 2024.

John was well known for being a great boat dealer. He owned and operated Brenner Marine at various locations, eventually opening at #1 Main St. behind the Toledo Sports Arena. John partnered with Virgil Gladieux and built Toledo Beach Marina where he finished his career having worked over 60 years as a boat dealer.

John was active in the Masons, Shriners, Jesters and First Congregational Church of Toledo, Ohio. Nancy and John were members of Sylvania United Church of Christ. John’s greatest joy was his family. Some of his favorite memories were of family reunion vacations in various places in Ohio and Michigan.

John was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Verna Brenner, his brother Robert McWhirter and his wife of 75 years Nancy Irene Brenner. John is survived by his daughter Kathy Bussard (Dennis), son John M. Brenner (Gail). He is also survived by grandchildren: Jennifer Johanson, Jamie Andrachek (Mickie), Joshua Andracheck (Julie), John “Chad” Brenner (Joslyn), Lyndsy Taritas (Joel) and Pauline Brenner; Great Grandchildren: Kara Hawk (Kurt), Riley Andradcheck, Lilly Kochensparger, Jack Kochensparger, Nolan Andracheck, Evelyn Taritas and Beau Taritas; Great-Great-Grandchildren: Alden Hawk and Luca Hawk. We will never forget the love he brought to our lives. We will be doing a memorial for the family at a later date.
