Joann E. Houser, 96, passed away peacefully in her home Monday, October 28, 2024. A loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, she was an inspiration to many. Born in Ottawa Lake, Michigan, December 12, 1927, Joann was a woman of many skills. She had a knack for crocheting and knitting, as well as a talent for sewing-her work ranged from custom draperies to alterations. But she was always happiest outdoors, whether mowing her lawn or tending to her yard, making sure it was the prettiest around. She found satisfaction in being active and taking care of her home. Later in life, she enjoyed quieter activities. Crossword and jigsaw puzzles became her favorite pastimes, keeping her mind active and engaged. She was given great joy by her last grandson Conor. Joann is survived by her daughters Darlene Lindner and Brenda (James) Bates; sons Gene Houser and Jon (Kara) Houser; grandchildren Conor, Melanie, Jay, Brian, Julie, Brianne, and Catlin; as well as 3 step-granddaughters; 10 great-grandchildren; and 8 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Donald Houser; son Ronald Houser; and son-in-law Larry Lindner.
Friends may call at the Reeb Funeral 5712 N. Main St. Sylvania, Ohio Friday, November 1, 2024, from 4:00pm until 8:00pm, where Funeral Services will be held Saturday November 2, 2024, at 11:00 am. She will be laid to rest beside Donald at Toledo Memorial Park.
