Joan was one of the most loving and sweetest women you could meet. She married the love of her life, Kenneth Alan Egeland, on September 12, 1957, and they spent 66 wonderful years together. They had 2 children, Kenneth and Deborah, along with 1 grandson, 4 granddaughters, 9 great grandchildren plus 2 great, great grandkids. They loved traveling and their favorite place was Hawaii where they spent their 50th wedding anniversary.
Joan was an avid bowler, scoring high scores whenever she played. Every Thursday she would meet up with her lady friends from bowling where they would reminisce. She loved her animals, word search puzzles, camping and traveling, watching QVC and her soaps.
She is survived by her son, Kenneth (Cassie) Egeland; grandson, Chad (Holly) Egeland; granddaughters, Jamie (Ryan) Fragoso, Jessica (Greg) Blausey, Jodi (Tim) Austin, Courtney Mulinix; sister-in-law, Pamela Thompson-Toth; nieces, Wendy Thompson Brann, Holly Thompson Maher, Shari Thompson; great grandchildren, Sara (Matt) Bass, Kellie, Addsion, Jace, Anson, Mallory, Derrick Jr., Harper, Vada; and great, great grandkids, Jaxon and Leela.
Joan was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth; brother, Denny Thompson; daughter, Debbie Mulinix; parents, Heman and Virginia Thompson; and in-laws, Gladys and Harold Egeland.
A celebration of the lives of Joan, Ken and Debbie will be held at Reeb Funeral Home, 5712 Main Street, Sylvania, OH 43560 on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, from 11 am until the service begins at 1 pm. Entombment will follow at Toledo Memorial Park.
