Jerry Driscoll, 88, passed away at his home on Sunday, October 22, 2023. He was born to George and Alice Driscoll on December 26, 1934, in Toledo, OH. Jerry graduated from Macomber High School in 1952.
Jerry married Carol on April 16, 1955; they were together for 60 years. Together they had 3 daughters. Jerry had many jobs as a young man, a pin setter at various bowling centers and others. He was very adventurous, he took many road trips with friends from Toledo to Canada; hunting and fishing, to Florida; for good times. He began work at his family business, Main Auto Supply, and carried on with the business until it closed 1992. Jerry was a Eucharistic Minister at St. Clement Catholic Church and St. Anthony Catholic Church. Jerry and Carol were involved in many activities at St. Clement including the pre-marriage seminars, social and fundraising activities. Jerry’s passion was for golf. He would play every day if he could. He was a member of Highland Meadows Golf Club and served on the Board there, as well. In addition to golf, Jerry and his wife, Carol, were avid duplicate bridge players. Jerry was an excellent woodworking craftsman. He built and assisted in building his own home, the homes of both daughters, and built most of his furniture. He was a family man, and always enjoyed a fun party with family and friends.
Jerry is survived by his daughters, Darla (Tom) Hamstreet and Lynn Reid; grandchildren, Nichole (Brian) Cox (Powell, Oh), Shelby Dement (Fremont, Oh), Kyle (Jodi) Hamstreet (Wapakoneta, OH), Jerry (Lidia) Reid (Sylvania, OH) and Ross (Jessica) Reid (Lambertville, MI); great-grandchildren; Natalie Cox, Reya Hamstreet and Henry Reid, and sisters-in-law; Beverly Thompson, Debbie Pietrowski and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Carol and his daughter, Jennifer Driscoll.
Friends may call at St. Clement Catholic Church, 3030 Tremainsville Road, Toledo , OH on Friday, October 27, 2023 at 9:30am until the Holy Mass begins at 10:30am. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Golf attire is optional.
