Jeffery Alan McEwen, 59, of Adrian, Michigan, went to be with his Lord and Savior, with his family by his side, December 25, 2020, at the Hospice of Lenawee. Jeff fought a courageous and tough battle with cancer. He was born October 25, 1961, in Toledo, OH, to parents Donald and Garnet (Norcoss) McEwen. Jeff proudly served his country in the United States Navy as a Boatswain Mate, on the USS Badger FF 1071 from April 1980 to April 1984, stationed out of Pearl Harbor, HI. Jeff received the Navy Expeditionary Metal, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon (W-1 STAR) and the Battle Efficiency “E” Ribbon.
He was employed with Merillat Industries and Inteva Products. Jeff played football with the Shoreland Firebirds all through grade school where his Father Donald also coached. He was a 1979 graduate of Whitmer High School. Jeff’s favorite hobbies were snowmobiling, fishing, and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Brenda L. McEwen; son Kalani (McKenzie Whelan) McEwen; mother Garnet “Rusty” McEwen; sisters Brenda (John) Kennedy and Bonnie (Ken) Klatt; and many nieces and nephews. Jeff was preceded in death by his grandparents; Father Donald F. McEwen; and nephew Sean Kennedy.
Friends may call at the Reeb Funeral Home, 5712 N. Main St. Sylvania, OH. Sunday, January 3rd from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM. The Funeral Ceremony will be private. Jeff will be laid to rest at Toledo Memorial Park.
