James Michael (Mike) Randall

James Michael (Mike) Randall, Jr., 43, went to be with his Heavenly Father on Thursday, October 10, 2024, at The Toledo Hospital ER with his mom and sister by his side.  Mike was born on December 22, 1980, in The Toledo Hospital to James and Carol Ann Randall.  He was a graduate of Whiteford Agricultural High School and a certified EMT for Michigan and Ohio.  He was a longtime member of St. Michael Lutheran Church in Ottawa Lake, Michigan.

In Mike’s teens and early 20’s, he was a tie down calf roper and two-time National High School Rodeo Association National Qualifier, as well as a qualifier for the International Finals Youth Rodeo in Shawnee, Oklahoma. Mike was employed with Monroe Community Ambulance and ProMedica Air and Mobile until he was medically disabled in 2008. Additionally, Mike was a volunteer firefighter with Whiteford Township Station #2 and retired with 10+ years of service in 2011.

During his short time with us, Mike touched many lives and was an inspiration to all who knew him. Despite having multiple medical challenges, Mike had a spirit of strength and determination.   His ability to persevere in difficult circumstances was often admired by many. Mike found joy in activities such as woodworking, gardening, and listening to audio books. He was always optimistic and had a quick wit about him.  The sunshine and light he brought to this world will be greatly missed.

Mike is survived by his mother Carol Ann, sister Mandi, and chosen siblings Brian and Elena. He is also survived by nephews Reed, Colt, and Tripp, niece Brecken, many cousins, and fur-baby Lily. Mike was preceded in death by his father Jim, grandparents Herb and Helen Sutherland, Richard and Jean Randall, and fur-babies Dally and Brandi.

Visitation will be held at Reeb Funeral Home, 5712 N. Main St, Sylvania, OH 43560, on Tuesday, October 15th, 2024, from 4-8pm. The funeral service will be conducted at St. Michael Lutheran Church, 5790 W Temperance Rd, Ottawa Lake, MI 49267, on Wednesday, October 16th, 2024, at 11am, with an hour visitation prior to the service. Donations in Mike’s memory may be made to St. Michael Lutheran Church, Whiteford Township Fire Department, or the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF).
