James A. Currier, 79, a long-time resident of Sylvania, OH, passed away Friday, June 22, 2018, at his residence while under hospice care. He was born October 4, 1938, in Lansing, MI., to parents Max and Dorothy (Saleski) Currier.
Jim was employed with the City of Sylvania, Water Department for 30 years before retiring in 1985. He was proud to have served with the United States Marine Corp. Jim was a member of the Sylvania Moose and a 50-year member of the Toledo Masonic Lodge #144 F&AM. He also enjoyed the years he served as Boy Scout Master of Troop 154.
Jim is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Carol (Miller) Currier; sons Frederick and Jamie (Beverlie) Currier; granddaughter Susan Currier; great-granddaughter Karin Bolding; sister in law Shirley Currier; brother in law Robert Wismar. He was preceded in death by his parents; son Robert M. Currier; sister Kathleen Wismar; brother Robert Currier and long time special friends William “Smitty” Smith and Jack Smith.
Private Funeral Services were provided by the Reeb Funeral Home, Sylvania. Jim was laid to rest with his family at Toledo Memorial Park.

Jim was always there when friends and neighbors needed help. The world is a better place since he was here. He will be missed.
