Jack A. Pieh, 86, of Ottawa Lake, MI, passed away on June 4, 2025, at Toledo Hospital surrounded by family. He was born at home in Deerfield, MI, to Lester and Stella Pieh on June 13, 1938. He was a 1956 graduate of Deerfield High School, where he enjoyed playing all sports. After graduation, he attended Kurtz Meat Cutting School and began a career at Churchill's Super Market that spanned 55 years as a butcher. Jack married Pat (Fritz) in 1960. They enjoyed 42 years of marriage until her passing in 2003. His hobbies included bowling, golfing, traveling with family and friends, playing cards, and poker on Thursdays. In his later years, his favorite pastime was attending his grandchildren's sporting events. He was a devoted Detroit Tigers and Lions fan. Jack was a true gentleman and a classy guy. He never met a stranger. Every person to him was just a friend he had not met yet. He was genuinely engaged in whatever conversation he was having and always had a story to tell. Jack is survived by his daughters Sherri (Mark) Prange, Debbie (Steve) LaRoy; grandchildren Matthew (Kayleigh) Prange, Megan (Kyle) Eckel, Luke (Lee) LaRoy, Abby (Austin) Flack, Gabe (Bailey) LaRoy, Zack (Jessica) LaRoy; 14 great-grandchildren, with one on the way; sister-in-law Rose Pieh, along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Pat, brother Jim, and sister Kathryn Viers. Those wishing to give memorials, in lieu of flowers, are asked to consider The Lutheran Church of Our Savior, 2820 W. Alexis Rd., Toledo, Ohio 43613, where Jack was a member for over 50 years and considered ''everyone family''.
