Harold A. Nieman, 89, of Toledo, OH, passed away Sunday, April 10, 2022. Harold was born at home in Blissfield, MI, July 12, 1932, to parents Herman and Alvinia (Fink) Nieman. He worked as a boiler operator with the National Cement Products Company for more than 30 years before retiring. Harold was proud to have served with the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a long and faithful member of the former Advent Lutheran Church, where he ushered, served on the church council, and was a cast member of the Last Supper pageants each Easter Season. After retiring Harold worked at the Reeb Funeral Home for many years where he became a trusted friend. He was a member of the Joseph W. Diehn Post of the American Legion and was affiliated with the Boy Scouts of America for many years.
Harold is survived by his wife Janet M. (Valerius) Nieman; daughter Jennifer (Greg) Kreft; sons Danny (Nancy) and Stephen (Judy) Nieman; grandchildren Jared, Evan, Heidi, Jonathan, Sean, Meaghan, Cameron, and Jordan; great-grandchildren Liam, Edward, and Connor; brother Kenneth Nieman; and a host of nieces and nephews; step-daughter Jeanne (Gary Dennis) Borer; step-son Eric (Blanche) Borer; step grandchildren Toby and Reghan; step great-grandchildren Binicio, Keau, Cyrus, Zeke, and Ingo; Harold was preceded in death by his parents; first wife Nancy (Borer) Nieman; sister Suzie Weber; and brothers Don, Lester, Herman, and Elwood “Woody” Nieman.
At Harold’s request there will be no service or visitation.
