Gustave J Laroy

Gustave J. Laroy, 65, of Blissfield, MI, passed away on January 30, 2025 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on August 28, 1959 in Jackson, MI to Gustave and Mary (Vandevelde) Laroy. He married Paula M. Braun on December 2, 1995 and together they raised 4 children.

Gus graduated from Whiteford Agricultural Schools in 1977 and from Monroe Community College with an associate degree in auto mechanics. He earned his journeyman’s license from Local 50 in Michigan and Local 671 in Ohio. Gus then started his long successful career as a plumber, pipefitter and welder, spending the majority of his career working for LaRoy Plumbing.

Gus liked to hunt deer, bird watch, and be outside. He enjoyed fixing cars, reading, riding his bike, and working on house projects. But most of all, Gus loved spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren, riding on the 4-wheeler and golf cart.

Gus is survived by his loving wife, Paula; children, Gustave (Jenifer), Ike (Brooke), Maddie and Mitch; grandchildren, Sophia, Logan, Mason, Annaliese and Emmy Jo; siblings, Angela (Eduardo Rodriguez) Christensen, Terese (Daniel) Gust, Laura (Darrell) Rush, Paul (Kelly) Laroy, Steven (Debra) Laroy, and Kathryn (Jay Leichty) Blochowski; mother, Mary Laroy, many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Gustave.

Friends may call at the Reeb Funeral Home, 5712 N. Main St. Sylvania, OH, Thursday, February 6, from 2:00pm - 8:00pm, and Friday, February 7, from 10:00am - 11:00am. The funeral service will be at Reeb Funeral Home on Friday, February 7 at 11:00am. Donations in Gus’s name may be made to Croswell Opera House, Adrian, MI.
