GRETCHEN E ( FIEDLER) SCHMIDT
03/31/1928- 5/12/2023
Gretchen E Schmidt, 95 passed away Friday, May 12th at her home in the care of Bee At Home and Elara Caring Hospice. She was born in Toledo, Ohio to Clarence and Evelyn Fielder on March 31, 1928. Gretchen attended Whittier Elementary, DeVilbiss High School and graduated from Whitney Vocational High School.
She is survived by her daughter Sandra (Glenn) Pegler, daughter in law, Janelle Schmidt, grandchildren, Cathy (Jeff) Samberg, Carla Schmidt, Kenn Pegler, Bob Pegler and Amy (Tim) Fisher. Great grandchildren Katie Samberg, Jake Samberg, Stefan Schmidt, Madeline Schmidt, Will Schmidt, Max Schmidt, Kaden Pegler, Hannah Pegler, Makenzie Menard, Gino Menard, Raelynn Pegler, Corbin Pegler. Great great grandchildren, Raegan Samberg/Hughes, and Paisleigh Pegler.
Gretchen was preceded in death by her husband, William Schmidt and her son John Schmidt and grandson Tim Schmidt. She was a very talented artist, winning awards for her oil paintings. Gretchen took much pride in her gardening as well as her love of Schnauzer dogs, especially Nelly.
Private graveside service was held at Toledo Memorial Park.
