Gretchen (Reimschusel) Nelson

Gretchen Nelson, 91, of Sylvania, Ohio, passed away peacefully in her home Sunday, October 12, 2025. She was born in Toledo, Ohio to parents Lawrence and Esther (Barbarick) Reimschusel on December 17, 1932. Gretchen was a 1951 graduate of Burnham High School, Sylvania. While in school she was a member of the Latin Club, the Girls Athletic Association, and the Senior Cap and Gown Committee.

Gretchen married Roger Nelson June 18, 1956. The union created three children, Debbie West, Dana Warnke, and Dan (Kristen Dieter) Nelson. She was a homemaker until she divorced in 1972. In 1973 she started working at Montrey Nursing Home, Sylvania, where she retired in 2002 at the age of 70.

Gretchen was preceded in death by her parents; sister Audrey; brothers Larry and Steve; and daughters Debbie and Dana. She is survived by her son Dan; brother Arlan; 5 grandchildren; and 16 great- grandchildren.

Friends may call at the Reeb Funeral Home, 5712 N. Main St. Sylvania, Ohio, Wednesday, October 22, 2025, from 11:00am until the Funeral Ceremony begins at 1:00pm. She will be laid to rest at Association Cemetery. Online condolences to reebfuneralhome
