Gloria Mae Adams

Gloria Mae Adams, age 89, of Sylvania Township, passed away on Saturday, March 13, 2021 at Franciscan Care Center. She was born on June 24, 1931 in Bowling Green, OH to Louis and Erma (DeSmith) Van Newhouse. She graduated from Bowling Green High School. She furthered her education taking art classes through The University of Toledo, Bowling Green State University and various other art programs. She married her High School sweetheart, Roland Hershal Adams, on November 4, 1951 in Nashville, TN.

Gloria was a talented and creative person with the ability to make any space beautiful. She was an exceptional artist, active in the Toledo Artist Club. and displayed several of her works throughout the Toledo area. She taught art to many local children and adults with the ability to bring out the best in all or her students. She worked as an interior designer and later she was a proud owner of Gloria’s Accents and Antiques in Waterville, Ohio. As member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, she was very involved and made many life long friends. Her greatest gift to her family and friends was her love, dedication and nurturing spirit.

She is survived by her children: Eric (Kelly) Adams, Susan (John) Phlipot, Michael Adams, and Richard (Amy) Adams; grandchildren: Jacob, Chelsea, Timothy, Robert, Sarah, Shyann, Tyler, and Chase; great-grandchildren: Declan, Ayden and Lockland; and siblings: Beverly (Ronald) and Jerry(Marcie) Gill. Gloria was preceded in death by her husband, 9 siblings and beloved granddaughter, Julie

Funeral services will be held at Reeb Funeral Home on Saturday, March 20, 2021 at 11:30 am with a visitation an hour before. Interment will follow at Toledo Memorial Park.
