Glen Paul Double

Glen Paul Double of Garner, NC passed away at the age of 86 on March 19, 2024, surrounded by his family after a long illness.  Glen was born on October 13, 1937, in Sylvania, OH to the late Paul F. and Grace (Beebe)  Double.  In 1957, Glen joined the U.S. Navy and married Jeanne Ann (Lewis) of Toledo.  Together they relocated many times during their 55-year marriage, finally settling in Clayton, NC.  Glen was a graduate of Burnham High School (Sylvania), Toledo University (Toledo), Wayne State (Detroit), and North Carolina State University (Raleigh).  After retiring from IBM, he began his second career as a teacher NCSU and as a private  tutor in math, physics, and astrophysics. Glen loved his family, lifelong learning, being a teacher, and the Lord.                                                                              

 In addition to his parents, Glen is preceded in death by his wife, Jeanne; his daughter, Jane; and his granddaughter, Emily.  He is survived by his sister, Diana Ice, of  Lawrence, KS, his three children:  Ann Marie (Tom) Drucker,  of Glenmount, NY., Mary Elizabeth (Glenn) Marcy,  of Cary, NC.and Paul Thomas (Myrna) Double; of Valrico, FL. his seven grandchildren: T.J., Jeanne, Peter, Mary, Drew, Megan, and Brendan; and two great grandchildren: Hazoor and Sohaila.                                                    

A funeral mass for Glen was held  at Saint Ann Catholic Church in Clayton, NC on Monday, March 25, 2024  The interment will follow at Toledo Memorial Park in Sylvania, Friday April 12, 2024 at 11:30 A.M.
