Gilles Joseph Frankart, age 64, passed away on Thursday, November 6, 2025.
Gilles was a proud graduate of Hopewell-Loudon High School. After graduation, he honorably served his country in the United States Marine Corps. Following his military service, Gilles graduated from Bowling Green State University and dedicated his career to caring for others as a Registered Nurse at Toledo Hospital.
Gilles attended St. Rose Catholic Church in Perrysburg. He was an active member of VFW Post #6409. Gilles valued camaraderie and community. He was an avid golfer and loved spending time camping with friends. He cherished time spent “up north” at the cabin, snowmobiling, skiing, and enjoying the outdoors. For over 25 years, Gilles never missed attending the Bowling Green Tractor Pull with his close friends. A lifelong fan of Ohio State football, he could always be heard cheering on his Buckeyes — Go Bucks!
Gilles is survived by his brother, Claude (Sharon) Frankart; his nephews, Thomas, Daniel, David, Andrew, and Michael; and many dear cousins and friends who will miss him deeply. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bernard and Nadnolia “Nan” Frankart, and his brother, Gerald “Jerry” Frankart.
Visitation will be held at Reeb Funeral Home in Sylvania on Friday, November 14 from 5-8 pm with a scripture service to be held at 7 pm. A funeral Mass will be Saturday, November 15 at Saint Rose Catholic Church in Perrysburg at 10:30 am with internment to follow with military honors at Ft. Meigs Union Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to one of the following: Cherry Street Mission, American Diabetes Association, or the Hopewell-Loudon Alumni Scholarship Fund.
Gilles will be remembered for his generosity, humor, and devotion to faith, family, friends, and his country. His warmth and spirit will live on in all who knew and loved him.
