Geraldine K Mazur (Laux), 73, passed away peacefully on April 9th, 2025 after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's Dementia. Surrounded by the love of her family, Geri left this world with grace, strength, and enduring love.
Born March 1st, 1952 to Betty Jane and Gerald Jerome Laux of Sylvania, she was the middle of five sisters.
Geri attended St Ursula Academy and graduated with the class of 1970. She later married Gary Mazur and together they raised their three children, Aaron, Nikki, and Lyndsey.
Geri worked in multiple professions from medical offices to car dealerships, but her most favorite job was working alongside her son as the office manager for Dent Wizard.
Geri enjoyed being in her garden and always wanted to show you her latest flowers planted. She would have constant color blooming all summer long. She had a passion for starting home improvement projects but not so passionate about always finishing them. She was creative and spent many hours taking pictures of anything and everything.
Her grandchildren were the light of her life and she found joy in their laughter. Most affectionately known as Gigi, the grandkids were spoiled on every holiday with over the top gifts and decorated tables for Sunday dinners. Gigi loved being a part of her children's lives and attending all of the grandchildren events.
Later, Geri met Steve, who introduced her to traveling. Her favorite place to visit was St Petersburg, FL, where Steve and she would escape to multiple times a year. She loved sunbathing, walking the beach, hot fudge sundaes, and dining out. They traveled with friends and made friends along the way. Steve's family became her extended family, and she enjoyed spending time with them.
Geri was proceeded in death by her son, Aaron Mazur, and her parents.
Surviving Geraldine are her daughters; Nikki (Jeff) Tuck and Lyndsey (Aaron) Croskey; daughter in law, Katelyn Mazur; significant other, Steve Behrendt and ex-husband, Gary Mazur; grandchildren, Eleanor and Caraline Tuck, Bradley and Emma Mazur, and Nathan Croskey; sisters, Marlene Damico, Dian Liber, Vicki (Ron) Scanlon, Connie (Jay) Feldstein, and multiple nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A special thank you to the caregivers at home, Becky and Chasity, and at Oak Leaf, especially Tiffany, Lori, Erika, and Joshua, who treated our mom with such respect and dignity as her disease progressed. Also, a thank you to the staff at Hospice 360⁰ for your compassion and keeping mom comfortable.
Visitation will be at Reeb Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 15, 2025 from 4pm until 7pm. The Memorial Mass will be on Wednesday, April 16, 2025 at 10am at Christ the King Catholic Church. The family suggest tributes to The Alzheimer’s Association in Geraldine’s name.
Cheers to Gigi, may she be greeted with open arms by Aaron and throwing one heck of a party.
