Gerald "Jerry" Howard Obituary
Jerry E. Howard, age 85 passed away Saturday, September 25, 2021, at Elizabeth Scott Community. Jerry was born in Toledo, Ohio October 30, 1935, to the Late June Adams and Emerson Howard. He was a salesman and territory manager for Therma Tru in Toledo, Ideal Millwork Co., In Texas and Haas Wholesale Millwork Co. in Indiana. He trained distributors and dealer sales personnel and worked with architects. Jerry married Sherry McKay September 12, 1959, they were married for 62 years. Jerry served two years in the US Army from 1955-1957. Jerry was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Toledo and served as an officer on church council. He also coached boys’ and girls’ softball and basketball sports at Grace Church. Jerry lived in the Reynolds Corners area during his teenage years. He played baseball for the Reynolds Corners Wrens with his buddies. He also played in the Senior Knothole League and Class “A” Federation League of Toledo.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Sherry; children, Anita Richardson, Steve Howard; grandchildren, Heather (Justin) Hilger, Dwight Richardson; great grandchildren, Grady, Logan, Thea; sisters, Shirley (Jerry) Wozniak, Barbara Gorski, Mary Ellen Hawley; brother, Douglas (Carole) Howard; sisters-in-law, Janis Jakab, Lynne (Derril) Bodnar and many nieces and nephews. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Emerson and Irene Howard, and mother June Adams, son, Jerry Scott; granddaughter; in-laws, Dougal and Wanita McKay; sister, Jackie Miller, and brothers-in-law, Ronald Jakab and Robert Gorski.
