Georgia Joane Delo McHugh, a devoted wife, loving mother, and cherished grandmother, passed away peacefully on February 6, 2026, at the age of 93, surrounded by the family she so deeply loved.
Guided by her faith, Georgia dedicated her life to her home and her family, raising ten children, 5 sons and 5 daughters, with unwavering patience, strength, and grace. Her Catholic faith was central to her life and sustained her through joy and hardship. As a stay-at-home mother, she was the heart of her family — creating a home filled with warmth, laughter, faith, and unconditional love. Her days were spent caring for others, often putting the needs of her family before her own, and she did so without complaint and with a quiet strength that inspired everyone around her. Her home was always open, her table always full, and her door always welcoming. She had markable ability to make each child feel seen, heard, and deeply loved. The lessons she taught through her example — kindness, resilience, humility, and devotion — will live on through her children and generations to come.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband and childhood sweetheart, Patrick Paul McHugh; daughter, Karen Marie Barricklow; and her parents, William and Dorothy Delo, whom she is now reunited with in peace. Georgia is survived by nine children, Patrick (Claire) McHugh, Kevin (Lesia) McHugh, Keith (Marsha) McHugh, Katherine (Sue) McHugh, Kelly (Robin) McHugh, Karolyn (Benet) Black, Kyle (Sue) McHugh, Kerry (Jeffrey) Gryca, Kara McHugh. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and brother William Edward Delo. All of whom will carry her legacy forward in the lives they lead and the love they share.
She will be remembered not only for the family she raised, but for the countless sacrifices she made and the immeasurable love she gave. Though she will be profoundly missed, her spirit lives on in the home she built and the family she nurtured with such care.
A Catholic Mass will be held on February 13, 2026, 10:30am, at Christ the King Catholic Church 4100 Harvest Lane, Toledo, Ohio 43623. Reception to follow at Christ the King Fellowship Hall.
