Frank C. Gwozdz, 90, of Sylvania, OH, passed away Monday, April 26, 2021 at Oakleaf Village.
He was born October 27, 1930, in Toledo, to parents Jacob and Viola Gwozdz.
Frank lived an amazing life as a husband, father, grandfather, math teacher, school principal, coach, counselor, and a veteran in both the U.S. Navy and U.S. Air Force. He proudly served in the Korean War as a pilot and military code translator.
Words cannot express the love and devotion he had for his family. His proudest moments were being a father and grandfather. He loved meeting new people to share his stories with and to learn their stories. No heart was untouched once you met him. He would always share a joke with you or greet you with a smile.
Frank is survived by his son Steve (Suzanne Gwozdz); grandchildren Mackenzie, Zoe, and Zachary; and daughter in law Christine Gwozdz. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Joanne Gwozdz and his son, Kevin Gwozdz.
Family and friends may gather at the Reeb Funeral Home, Sylvania, Thursday April 29, 2021 from 5-7:00 P.M.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Frank Gwozdz can be made to Ohio Living Home Health and Hospice of Greater Toledo in honor of the care and compassion given to Frank over the last year. The family would like to especially thank Shawn Sullivan, his hospice nurse, and his caregivers Beth and Jamie at Oakleaf Village.
Donations can also be given to Little Blessings Veteran and Community Outreach, in honor of his service to the military. He was especially proud of Zoe Gwozdz and her equine therapy certification that allowed her to work with veterans at Dukes Farm. Online condolences to reebfuneralhome.com
