Eugene Howe Obituary

Eugene D. Howe, 69, of Holland, OH, passed away Saturday, June 25, 2022. He was born in Toledo, OH, September 30, 1952, to parents William and Arletta (Smith) Howe. Gene graduated from Whitmer High School in 1971. He was a lifelong carpenter who worked in Texas from 1982 until returning to the Toledo area in 2017. Gene truly enjoyed spending time with his family and was an avid NASCAR enthusiast and Pittsburgh Steeler fan.

He is survived by his son Justin Laux; grandchildren JJ, Brendan, and Krystyna Laux; sisters Donna (Marc) Hetzner and Diane Betcher; brothers Edwin (Barbara), Duane (Pam), and Dean Wm (Carla) Howe; and a host nieces, nephews, and great nieces and great nephews. Gene was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law Ken Betcher.

At Gene’s request cremation has taken place and a celebration of his life will take place at a later date. Those wishing to offer memorials are asked to consider the American Diabetes Association.
