Ethel Naomi Barnhizer

February 27, 1925 ~ January 3, 2021 (age 95)

Ethel was born to Harlow T and Mable L (Harris) Sheperd on February 27, 1925 in Tontagony, Ohio. She was one of nine children. She worked at the H.J. Heinz factory in Bowling Green, Ohio and at the Green Gables restaurant inside the Greyhound Bus station in Bowling Green. This is where she met the love of her life Thomas P. Barnhizer. She attended Whiteford Wesleyan Church in Ottawa Lake, MI. The past five years she lived at the Kingston Residence of Sylvania. While living there she enjoyed putting puzzles together and playing Bingo. She would rarely miss playing and especially liked it when she had a bingo and the cover all.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas; siblings Dorothy Brough, Clyde Sheperd, Thelma Meridith, Gladys Mathney, Donna Marie Kelley, Bernice Sheperd and grandson Richard Robert (Bobby) Barnhizer.

She is survived by sisters, Vera Moore and Janet Markin; children, Tom (Meg) Barnhizer, Don Barnhizer, Ron (Mary) Barnhizer, Peg (Mick) Tscherne, Anita Howard, Richard (Ellen) Barnhizer, Beverly Martin and Judi (Ron) Clark; 27 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great grandchildren.
