Ellen Ruth Belville, 85, formerly of Perrysburg, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, at Woodhaven Health Care Center in Bowling Green, Ohio. She was born on April 10, 1940, in Toledo, Ohio, to Harvey Sr. and Ruth (Townsed) Mantey.
Ellen married Bert E. Belville Sr. in 1961, and they shared 61 years of loving marriage until his passing in 2022. She worked as a caregiver for more than Thirty years at Sunshine Childrens Home until her retirement. Ellen enjoyed having potted flowers around her home and was an avid shopper who loved searching for the best bargains and deals. She especially loved the Christmas season, but above all, she was a proud grandmother who cherished every moment with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her loving family: daughter Sue (Robert) Waller; son Bert Belville Jr.; grandchildren Courtney, Austin Sr., Brittany, Tyler, and Weston; great-grandchildren Austin Jr., Emmett, and Serena; and siblings Flora Laney, Imogene Mantey, and Terry Mantey.
Ellen was preceded in death by her husband, Bert; her parents; her son Ralph (“Butch”); and her brothers Harvey and Richard Mantey.
Friends may call at Reeb Funeral Home, 5712 N. Main St., Sylvania, Ohio, on Wednesday, December 17, from 11:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m., where the funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m.
Those wishing to give a memorial are asked to consider a charity of the donor’s choice.
Entombment will follow at Toledo Memorial Park, Sylvania, Ohio.
