Denis Lee Slaughterbeck, 69, of Lambertville, MI, passed away Saturday, January 6, 2023, at the Hospice of Northwest Ohio Ebeid Center. He was born May 29, 1954, in Toledo, OH, to parents Herman J. and Laura M. (Pratt) Slaughterbeck. Denis was employed as a truck driver with the Colonial Courier Services until he retired. After retirement he worked a short time with O’Reilly Auto Parts in Dundee, MI. Denis was proud to have served on the Lambertville Volunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking, and was an excellent cook.
Denis is survived by his loving wife of more than 45 years Janet (Berning) Slaughterbeck; sisters Bonnie, Brenda, and Sue Slaughterbeck; brother H.L. (Rose) Slaughterbeck; a host of nieces and nephews; brother-in-law Ricky (Star) Berning of Florida, and their children; and fur babies Comet, Spunk, and Goofy. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Barbara Gilbert.
Denis selflessly donated his body to the University of Michigan for Anatomical Study and chose to have no service or visitation.
