David Lynn McClurg, 80 of Sylvania, Ohio passed away Monday, February 17, 2025. David was born March 28, 1944, in Toledo, Ohio and was a lifelong resident of Sylvania. He was the son of David and Lois (Rower) McClurg. David was a graduate of Sylvania High School class of 1962 and graduated from the University of Toledo with a Bachelor of Business Administration. David is survived by his wife Mary (Webb) McClurg, children Craig (Catherine) Mey and Melissa (Tom) Michalak, six grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, a sister Barb Prigohzy, and one niece and one nephew. Mary and David reconnected in 1998 and were married in 2002. David often joked that he had been in love with Mary since the fourth grade. He waited 45 years to marry her. In his younger years, David owned and trained horses and was a sulky driver for harness racing. In his later years David enjoyed working in his garden and won the City Beautiful Award two years in a row. He was an avid feeder of the squirrels and enjoyed watching their antics. He love to play golf and to watch others play on TV. He also enjoyed weekly poker games with his friends. David was a devoted Browns fan, attending games whenever he could. David was also a pet parent to many horses, golden retrievers and cats, all of whom he cherished. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Toledo Humane Society.
