Danny Allen Ward, 61, of Sylvania, Ohio, passed away on February 5, 2026, at his home after a long illness.
Dan was born on December 23, 1964, and raised in Sylvania, where he lived throughout his life. He attended Northview High School for two years before graduating from Southview High
School. Dan took great pride in his work at Home Builder Supply, where he served as a Foreman in the brickyard for many years.
He had a love of speed, especially NASCAR, go-karts, motorcycles, and snowmobiles, and was a loyal Pittsburgh Steelers fan. He also looked forward to hunting season and spending time at car shows.
He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Herbie White; his mother, Mary Lou White; and his sister, Coleen Ward. He is survived by his daughters, Marisa and Amanda Ward; his special friend, Bev Collum; and his loyal companion dog, Tyrone (Ty). Dan is also survived by his five brothers: Bob (Chris) Ward, Rick Ward, Tim (Mindy) Ward, Tom Ward, and Mike (Kristen) Ward; and his four sisters: Carol (the late Neil) Davidson, Gail (the late Shelby) Schroeder, Shirley (Tim) Merritt, and Connie (Herb) Brown. He leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews, as well as lifelong friends who will cherish his memory.
Friends are invited to join the family for a Celebration of Life at Inside the Five, 5703 Main Street (second floor), Sylvania, Ohio, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 21, 2026.
Interment will take place later in the Chapel of Chimes at Toledo Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Toledo Humane Society or the ASPCA.
