Dale Grant Monnett of Toledo, OH passed away peacefully of natural causes on Dec. 14, 2021, at ProMedica Toledo Hospital, surrounded by his loved ones. He was 73.
Dale was born on Jan. 5, 1948, in Toledo, and graduated from Irving E. Macomber Vocational Technical High School in 1965.
After high school, he served his country as a Boatswain’s Mate First Class in the U.S. Navy for 6 years, followed by a 40-year career at Owens-Illinois/Sun Chemical.
Dale loved golf and was an avid bowler, achieving multiple perfect 300 games. He was a devoted fan of the Cleveland Browns, the Cleveland Indians and the Ohio State Buckeyes. He was legendary among friends and family for the parties he hosted at his home on holidays and game days.
He is survived by his two sons, David Monnett and Mikell (Cynthia) Monnett and their mother, former wife Linda Henderly; his former wife Keiran Corneail, and her four children, whom he considered his own: Jennifer (Greg) Davidson, Renée (Nicholas) Stack, Tia (Nathan) Keefer, and Henry Walling III; his brothers Ronald (JoAn) Monnett and Jeffrey (Sarah) Monnett; grandchildren Ryan, Andrew, Cassidy, Alex, Robert, Annabelle, Kellen and Kolyns; and great-grandchildren Ansel and Norah.
Dale was preceded in death by his parents, Grant Monnett and Virginia “Ginny” Monnett.
Friends and relatives are invited to a visitation with the family between 4-7 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 27 at Reeb Funeral Home located at 5712 N. Main Street, Sylvania, OH. The funeral service will be private.
