Our beloved mother and grandmother, Crystal (Chris) Mitchell of Sylvania, OH, passed away peacefully on November, 28 th , 2025 at the age of 72.
She will be lovingly remembered by her only daughter, Kathryn (Kat) Hollerbach, son-in- law, David, and grandsons Noah, Aiden, Tyler, Zachary, and Kyle Hollerbach of Sylvania, OH. She was also loved by her surviving sisters, Kerry Wilkinson and Vicke Lerch of Texas, along with nieces and nephews, cousins, and many dear friends she made throughout her life. She has been reunited with her parents, Bill and Bernice, family and friends, and her beloved dog, Meija.
Chris was born in a small town in Ohio while her father served in the military. The family moved to Bunker Hill, IL, when she was a child, where she grew up, graduated, and raised her only child. She spent time in the dental profession for decades before retirement, as a dental assistant and later as office management, where she made many close friends that she considered family. Her favorite thing was spending time with her grandsons, whom she called “her babies”. They were the light of her life, and she was an incredible grandmother to them. She enjoyed attending sports events, activities, programs, and just heading out for ice cream or a trip to the park. Her love for them was immense and eternal. They will hold these memories close to their hearts.
She will be remembered as someone who had a servant’s heart and was always there to help someone in need, whether a friend or a stranger. She was a believer in Jesus and spent many years serving as a children’s Sunday school teacher. She loved serving in church and the family she made at the churches she attended throughout her life.
At her request, no formal or public services will be held.
Memorial donations may be made in her honor to The Alzheimer’s Association or the American Cancer Society.
The family wishes to send a special thank you to the staff at the Rosary Care Center for their care, love, and compassion during her time there and to Hospice of NW Ohio for their dedication to her comfort in her last days with us.
