Cheryl Kay Jones (Barone) passed away peacefully at home on November 26, 2025. Cheryl was born on January 9 th , 1948 in Greenville, Ohio to the parents of Nina Lou Barone (Beisner) and Charles Anthony Barone. She spent a great deal of her early childhood in Greenville with family, where she was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church.
Her family eventually made its way to Sylvania, Ohio where she would remain the rest of her years. Graduating from Sylvania High School in 1966, she married her high school sweetheart that same year. Later divorcing, she entered the workforce and found work at Sears Department Store and eventually found a career with the United States Postal Service in Sylvania where she worked until retiring.
Being a strong, independent, proud and determined woman with a big heart, led to creating and maintaining many friendships with multiple neighbors and co-workers over the years. Additionally, she was very proud of her son and her grandchildren often sharing their accomplishments with whomever would listen. She loved to paint china (which she did for many years) and care for the few cats that she would own and adopt. She lived life the way she wanted and she will be missed very much.
She is survived by: her son, Jeffrey Jones (Tammy) of Liberty Center, Ohio; her grandchildren, Delaney Jones (Dalton) of Manistee, Michigan; Alex Jones (Hannah) of Perrysburg, Ohio; Paige Koepfer (Paul) of Toledo, Ohio; and Riley Danford of Toledo, Ohio; and her brother Jerry Barone (Terri) of Springfield, Ohio. She was preceded in death by: her parents, grandparents, and ex- husband Paul Jones of Ottawa Lake, Michigan.
The lieu of sending flowers, the family requests that you consider making a donation to the Toledo Humane Society.
