Charles ("Chuck," "Charlie," "Boppy") Henry Puhl III, 73, died from complications of lung cancer treatment on October 26, 2021, at Toledo Hospital surrounded by his family.
Charlie was born June 2, 1948 to Charles and Violet Puhl in Toledo, Ohio. He attended Central Catholic and Scott High School before enlisting in the Army. He was the owner of Puhl Electric Company for nearly 50 years with countless close customers, vendors, and employees, many like family to him. He was a founding member of TMECA and on the Board of Apprenticeship Committee, maintaining meaningful friendships with other members.
He is survived by his loving wife, Laurie, of nearly 40 years; daughter, Lindsay (Kirk) McKenney and their children, Henry, Harrison, Sage, and Dylan; son, Tyler (Jessica) Puhl and their son, Charlie; his mother, Violet Puhl; siblings, Barbara Gorsuch, Susan (Theron) Pollock, Chris (Charlene) Puhl, Cyndi (Chet) Zeigler; and a host of relatives that loved him. After his father passed in 1972, Charlie was a support system for his mom and younger siblings.
Chuck was so proud of his two kids and his life revolved around their activities and the many friends and memories made through gymnastics, soccer, and hockey (especially his place on the glass at Tam O). He was a lifelong Red Wings and Ohio State Buckeye fan and loved watching games with family.
He lived a rich and full life that most recently revolved around his grandkids and all the joy they brought him. They will cherish the special memories of fishing, working on puzzles, vacations at the beach, building things, yard work, and the many games they played with Boppy. He was always ready to help when help was needed and will be dearly missed.
The family would like to thank the ICU staff at Toledo Hospital, especially his nurses, Nick and Marissa.
A celebration of his life will be held on November 13th at Inside the Five Fifth Floor, 5703 Main St., Sylvania, Ohio. Please stop by between 5 and 9 pm.
