Charles “Chuck” R. Houttekier, Sr. passed away Friday June 5, 2026, at Flower Hospital Sylvania. He was born June 26,1942 to Juanita (Sallows) and Camille Amiel Houttekier.
He worked for Toledo Concrete Pipe as a laborer for 30 plus years. He enjoyed the Cousino Club on Friday nights, a big sports fan of the Detroit Tigers, Atlanta Braves, Pittsburg Steelers, and enjoyed watching the game show network. In his earlier years he was a camper at Sunny’s Campground.
He adored his grandchildren, great grandchildren and his three guardian angels, Denise, Lori, and Brittney and was always bragging about them to anyone who would listen.
Chuck is survived by son, Charles “Bubba” Houttekier, Jr., daughter, Wendy Porter, stepdaughter, Lori (Keith) Holub; daughter-in-law, Denise (Chuck) Crouch-Provo, 8 grandchildren,
and 19 great grandchildren, sister Joyce Goins. Brothers, Randy Houttekier and Richard Sallow. He was preceded in death by his wife Marilyn and stepson, Randy Crouch, son-in-law, Jeff Porter,
siblings, Sally Frey, Paul Houttekier, Ray Sallows, Roger Houttekier, and by friend and ex-wife, Betty Miller.
Friends may call at Reeb Funeral Home, Sylvania, OH Friday June 12, 2026, from 4-7:00 P.M. with funeral services at the funeral home, Saturday June 13, 2026, at 11:00 A.M. Interment to follow at Amboy Cemetery. The family suggests tributes to a charity of the donor’s choice.
