Carolyn C Topolski

Carolynn C. Topolski  "Carol"  88, passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends on Friday June 12, 2026. After a brief but courageous battle with colon cancer, Carol entered eternal rest while under the compassionate care of Hospice of Northwest Ohio at the Ebeid Hospice Center.

Carol was born on April 27, 1938, and later adopted by Carl Wasserfuhr and Marie Wedding of Clay Township, Ohio. She was a graduate of DeVilbiss High School. Attended the University of Toledo, where she met the love of her life, Thomas “Tom” Topolski. Together they shared 49 years of marriage and built a loving family. Carol later continued her education at Siena Hights University in Adrian, Michigan.

A lifelong educator, Carol dedicated many years to teaching Jr High at St. Adalbert and St. Richards Catholic Schools. She had a gift for helping young minds learn and grow and touched the lives of countless students throughout her career.

Music was one of Carol’s greatest passions. She faithfully served Reformation Lutheran Church and Memorial Lutheran Church for many years as Director of Music, sharing her talents, faith, and love of music with her church family. Through her leadership and dedication, she enriched the worship experience of generations of parishioners and formed many lasting friendships within the church community.

Above all, Carol was devoted to her family. She cherished time spent with loved ones, creating memories, celebrating holidays, and welcoming family and friends into her home. She will be remembered for her kindness, strong faith, generous spirit, love of music, and unwavering dedication to those she loved.

Carol’s legacy lives on through the many lives she touched as a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, teacher, church leader, and friend. 

Carol is proceeded in death by her parents (Carl and Marie) and her loving husband (Tom). She is survived by her children: Richard (Jamie), Amy, MaryBeth, and Alan. Grandchildren: Matthew, Amanda, Marnie (Austin), Thomas, Darbi, Hadlee, Angela, Erica and Jacqui. Great-Grandchildren: Wesley, Kate, Dominic, Adam, and Jude.  

Visitation will be held at Memorial Lutheran Church (3215 Douglas Rd, Toledo, OH 43606) on Friday, July 10, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., followed by a luncheon and celebration of Carol’s life. 

In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make memorial contributions are asked to consider the Hospice of Northwest Ohio or the Memorial Lutheran Church.
