Calvin F. Lowe passed away on September 5, 2022, just 16 days shy of his 90th birthday. Calvin was born to Richard and Violet (Studer) Lowe on September 22, 1932.
Calvin married the love of his life, Lacreta Tilton, on March 17, 1956. They had five children: Cynthia (John) O’Connor, Mark (Peggy Sancrant), Lisa (Mark) Dillman, Matthew (Urith), and John. They were blessed with 12 grandchildren: Amanda Dunn, Jessica Tripp, Matthew Lowe, Jessica Bingham, Samantha Middlebrooks, Jennifer Dreps, Jacob White, Andrew Dillman, Alysia White, Rebecca Reguera, Marissa White, Ryan Dillman; and 26 great grandchildren.
Calvin attended grade school in Whitehouse, OH, then Libbey High School for one year and finished his last three years at Macomber High School, majoring in Electrical. He also attended a few of semesters at Toledo University.
Missing three fingers on his left hand, Calvin was a gifted Electro-Hydraulic Designer and Engineer. He started his career at Baker Brothers in Toledo, OH. He worked for General Motors doing maintenance and design of electric hydraulic systems. While at GM, he did the same for Weldbend out of Chicago and continued with Weldbend for many years after retiring from GM.
He and his wife were active members of First Christian Church of Sylvania. They had previously attended Trilby United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years; and his son, Matthew.
There will be a Celebration of Life service at First Christian Church of Sylvania, 5271 Alexis Road, at 2:00 p.m. on September 17, 2022.
