Beverly Ann Schoettley passed away peacefully on April 1, 2026, at the age of 90.
She was born on July 28, 1935, in Toledo, Ohio, to Thomas Jones and Margaret (Martin) Jones. Beverly had a lifelong passion for travel and turned that passion into a career she truly loved. She worked as a travel agent for many years through Central Travel and proudly founded The House of Cruises. She later joined Uniglobe Travel, where she devoted many years of service before ultimately retiring.
After 31 years of a devoted and loving marriage, Bev stood faithfully by Gary’s side, caring for him throughout his battle with colon cancer. Her love and strength never wavered, and she carried his memory with her always, finding comfort in the promise that they would one day be reunited.
What soon began as an affectionate name from her great-grandchildren quickly became a beloved family nickname: G.G. One of her greatest accomplishments was her devotion to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Whether giving advice, cheering at games, giving a big hug, or simply being there to listen, G.G. was always the one her family could count on. There wasn't anything G.G. wouldn't do for them.
In her free time, Beverly found great joy in traveling, visiting casinos, and connecting with everyone she met. She especially cherished the beauty and birds in her backyard, along with gardening and playing Rummy. Once she moved to Waterford Levis Commons, she quickly became a resident social butterfly. Bev never met a stranger—she made it her mission to include everyone and remind them just how special they were. Once you captured her heart, the sass would surely follow—often in the form of a quick-witted comment, paired with a perfectly timed eye roll.
While at Waterford, she discovered Bocce ball and had many adventures to all the fun places in Perrysburg. She loved playing Uno and bingo with her many friends. She enjoyed watching the birds come to her window to eat from the feeder— even the pesky squirrel, a familiar and determined regular. She found happiness in both adventure and the simple pleasures of being at home with her family and friends.
Beverly is survived by her loving children: Cheryl Nosker, Kelly (Tom) Sprader, and Gary Schoettley; her grandchildren, Casey (Scott) Czubek and Tara (A.J. Ross) Schoettley; and her seven great-grandchildren: Brooke, Emerson, Noah, Hudson, Grayson, Jayla, and Colten.
She is also survived by her siblings, Jane (Robert) Kulwicki and James (Sandy) Jones, and her sister-in-law, Jacqueline Jones.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Gary Schoettley; her sister, Marilyn (Joe) Stalma; her brother, Tom Jones; her nephew, Tommy Jones; and her parents.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Hospice 360 staff. In particular, Heather, Bri, Alisha, and Maddie, for their kindness, support, and dedication to the love you showed Mom. To our Waterford Family, thank you for all you did for Mom the last few years. In particular, to Bettie, Lizzy, Andrea, Kelsie, Jamie, and Taylor. Mom often told us how much she cherished your company and love, ultimately becoming more than caretakers, but more like family. We would also like to thank Father Dave for his compassion and support during this difficult time.
Beverly will be remembered for her love of family, her adventurous spirit, and her warmth toward all who knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of cherished memories and will be deeply missed.
Friends and family may call at Reeb Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 8, from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Her funeral service will be celebrated with Father Dave Nuss on Thursday, April 9, at 11:00 AM at Reeb Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and Cherry Street Mission. In memory of Bev’s love for ice cream, enjoy a Wendy’s Vanilla Frosty in her honor.
