Beverly Joan Kelly passed away Saturday, October 30, 2021 at Ebeid Hospice. Born to the late Irving G. Hausmann and Dorothy Selvey, Bev resided in Petersburg, MI, and lived on the same street, near beloved Hausmann relatives, for the majority of her 86 years. A 1953 graduate of Bedford High School, Bev was the school newspaper editor and a member of the yearbook staff. Bev married the love of her life, James H. Kelly, in 1957, celebrating 64 years of marriage this past April. Bev and Jim raised five children while being actively involved in St. Anthony Catholic Church, Temperance, MI, where Bev worked as the grade school secretary for 27 years. Bev’s faith was very important to her. She served as a lector and was active in many aspects of parish life. Bev was generous, thoughtful, smart, and artistic. She had a wonderful sense of humor. Bev had a beautiful singing voice and during her youth, sang with her mother and sisters. Music was often playing in her home. Bev liked to travel. She and Jim had the opportunity to visit many fabulous destinations, including Alaska, with dear friends. Bev enjoyed her Bunco group and will miss gathering with this wonderful group of women. Bev loved reading. During the past year, she participated in a virtual book club which included her daughters, several of her granddaughters and her granddaughter-in-law. Never one to dominate a conversation, Bev was a good listener and was interested in the thoughts, feelings, and opinions of others. Bev’s family will especially cherish memories of holidays and hope to continue her beautiful traditions. Bev and Jim made a great team, hosting weekly Sunday dinners for the family, and turning Bev’s beautiful tole painting into treasured family keepsakes, with Bev doing the painting and Jim preparing the woodwork. Bev is survived by her husband, Jim, who did much to care for her as her health declined. She is survived by her loving children and their amazing spouses, Michael (Carol) Kelly, Kimberly (Jim) White, Tracey (Jeff) Joyce, Jeff (Sarah) Kelly and Greg (Kelly) Kelly. Also left to cherish her memory are Bev’s 14 adored grandchildren and their significant others, Megan Kelly, Colleen Kelly, Conor Kelly, Kelly White, Dan (Alyssa) White, Joe White (Maggie Devine), Ryan Joyce (Tori Harper), Molly Joyce, Jamie Joyce, Erin Kelly, Brendan Kelly, Dylan Kelly, Chelsea Kelly, and Mitch (Amy) Kelly; and her precious great- grandchildren, Thatcher Kelly and Maya White. Bev is also survived by her sisters, Carol (Richard) Harrigan and Judy (Bill) Perron; and many wonderful cousins, nieces and nephews. She loved you all very much. Bev bravely faced significant health challenges with dignity and grace. The Kelly family would like to thank Dr. Samina Hasan for her kind and compassionate care. We would also like to thank the staff at Ebeid Hospice for making her last days as comfortable as possible. Family and friends may visit the Reeb Funeral Home, 5712 N. Main Street, Sylvania, OH on Friday, November 5 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, November 6, at 11:00 a.m. at Anthony Catholic Church, Temperance, MI, where Bev will lie in state beginning at 10:00 a.m. until the Funeral Mass begins. Bev’s nephew, Fr. Randy Kelly, will preside, assisted by her cousin, Deacon Gene Hausmann. Interment will be at St. Anthony Cemetery, Temperance, MI. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the American Diabetes Association or a charity of the donor’s choice. Condolences can be shared at www.reebfuneralhome.com
