Beatrice Iona Ptomey peacefully passed away Sunday, May 15 of 2022 at the age of 93. Beatrice was born outside of Pittsburgh Pennsylvania and had four siblings.
At the age of 19 she laid eyes on her future husband, Stanley Ptomey, at an ice cream shop. Stanley worked as an engineer for service combustion. The job allowed them to travel the United States in a trailer, living in many different states. Beatrice loved this. They finally settled in Ottawa Lake, MI and built their forever home. They had three children. As well as being a full-time mom, Beatrice worked at Libbey glass factory. She had a great sense of humor. She was always grateful for the life she had lived. She loved playing practical jokes and taking the casinos for all they were worth. Things that would instantly bring a smile to her face were talking about her husband, her children, grandchildren and her childhood. Survived by Beatrice’s sister, Darlene Denicola, eldest daughter Vickey Howard-Gongwer, and youngest child Brian Ptomey will miss her dearly. Beatrice was much loved by her grandchildren Benn Howard, Ivy Sallah, Courtney Lottie, Haleigh Howard and Luke Ptomey and 4 great-grandchildren. She is now in a better place with her husband Stanley Ptomey, her daughter Linda Lottie and grandson Max Lottie. As well as her beloved brothers and sister, ‘Pete’, ‘Nook’ and ‘Sis’. She is probably asking where the casinos are right now.
