Arlene T. Arends 90, of Toledo, OH. Passed away on St. Patricks’ Day March 17, 2025. She was born a feisty young lady in Posen, IL April 5, 1934. Arlene had many different jobs: her favorite was being a mother and a grandmother. Prior to starting a family with Paul, her husband of 63yrs… she had been a car hop, telephone operator, and an occasional bartender for the local tavern for her Aunt Marie. She was also a longtime volunteer at Lake Park nursing home in Syl, OH. Arlene also was a Girl Scout leader, an avid boater, and lover of Florida. Arlene was a devoted Catholic who held a weekly Rosary group once a week for countless years. She had also made the pilgrimage to Medjugorje, Yugoslavia twice with several friends. She was a truly dedicated follower of The Virgin Mother Mary. We mustn’t leave out her love for her dogs and all Gods’ creatures.
Arlene is survived by her son Ken (Melody) Arends; grandsons Devin (Kristin) and Derek (Alexa) Arends. With who she has 6 great grandchildren from. daughter Tammy (Tom DePrest) with step grandkids Brandyn, Mackenzie, and Tommy. Arlene was preceded in death by her husband Paul, daughter Mary Kay, and granddaughter Amanda Marie Arends. As well as siblings Mary Lou, Bobby, and Connie.
Arlene’s life will be celebrated with a memorial mass at St. Clements Catholic Church, Saturday March 22, 2025 at 9am. Those wishing to offer memorials or flowers, are asked to consider Toledo Humane Society.
