Anna Catherine Goetz June 19, 1933 – May 8, 2024 Anna Goetz peacefully passed away on May 8, 2024, with her children by her side. Anna was born in Toledo, Ohio on June 19, 1933, to the late John and Nellie (Hassen) Bick. Anna was a devoted wife, a loving mother, a doing grandmother, and a cherished great-grandmother. She was admired for her strong work ethic, which exemplified her unwavering dedicaton. Anna was not only commited to her family, but also actvely involved in serving her community. She possessed a warm-hearted nature that made her inclusive and engaged with everyone she encountered. Anna's caring and hardworking soul touched the lives of many. Afer graduating from Notre Dame Academy in 1951, Anna found eternal love with Bernard Goetz. They were married on February 6, 1954, in Toledo, Ohio. Although Anna was born and raised in the city, she moved to the countryside with Bernard, where they dedicated their lives to farming, improving the community and raising their children. Her children regarded her as the strong foundaton of their family. Anna had a strong faith and was a passionate supporter of the Whiteford Bobcats and Michigan Wolverines. She found joy in traveling, especially when accompanied by friends, and cherished the unforgetable moments she experienced in places like Alaska and Hawaii. People admired Anna for her strength, faithfulness, loyalty, kindness, and strong work ethic. Anna also enjoyed going to the casino, playing games, and solving puzzles. Her family describes her as kind, curious, faithful, and giving. Notably, Anna played a crucial role in building the track at the Whiteford High School in the late 70s, showcasing her determinaton and utlizing her strengths. Above all, she adored her family and cherished the joyful moments they shared. She had the gift to make everyone feel loved as one of her own. Anna is survived by her four children, Deborah (Jim) Russell, Brenda (John) Nieman, Bernie (Colleen) Goetz, and John (Trayce) Goetz. She also leaves behind 13 grandchildren Kim (Jeremy) Wilson, Kristy (Mike) Hoffman, Brad (Lisa) Russell, Mat (Sarah) Nieman, Dan (Rebekah) Nieman, Renee (Cody) Grove, Lauren (Nate) Burnet, Shane Goetz, Delaney Goetz, Haley (Jake) Fejes, Madison Goetz, Caiden Farrell, Cael Farrell, and 13 great-grandchildren, her brother Joe (Barbara Jane) Bick, brothers-in-law’s, Kenneth (Janet) Goetz and Wayne (Carolyn) Goetz, and many nieces and nephews. Anna was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 69 years, Bernard Goetz, her parents, an infant son, sisters Mary Vernon Bick and Ginny (Cato) Gotschalk, and an infant grandchild, Marilyn Goetz. Though Anna's tme with us has come to an end, her legacy of kindness, hard work, and devoton will forever live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her. Her family will always cherish and honor her memory. A small memorial gathering will be held at the Palms on Saturday, May 11, 2024, at 2 p.m. Services for Bernard and Anna Goetz will be held at Zion Lutheran Church in Otawa Lake, MI on Monday, June 3, 2024; Visitaton at 10 a.m. and funeral services at 11 a.m. with internment immediately following the services at Lakeview Cemetery, Otawa Lake, MI. Luncheon to follow. In lieu of flowers, donatons can be made payable to Zion Lutheran Church 8307 Memorial Hwy, Otawa Lake, MI 49267
