Al Mocek, 85, of Lambertville, Michigan, passed away Saturday evening, April 4th, 2026 at home. Al was born May 19th, 1940 to Stella and Aloysius Mocek Sr. in Toledo, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Cathy, sister, Joanne Bourdo, nephew, Loran Bourdo, and his parents. Al is survived by his nieces and nephews - Keith (Sally) Bourdo; Denise (Brian) Ovens; Ken (Tammara) Bourdo; Marisa Bourdo; daughter-in-law, Pam Bourdo, great friends - Scott Bollin and Julie Majewski Caris.
Al craved knowledge and loved his work at Connectronics Corporation, the company he founded in 1988. Al had a brilliant mind and enjoyed keeping his mind sharp reading (the Wall Street Journal, periodicals, books, browsing the internet), dabbling with side businesses, and playing Sudoku. Although his work kept him very busy, he enjoyed bowling, golfing, bird watching, entertaining, socializing, going out to eat, and daily workouts in his home gym. He was an avid sports fan and loved listening to music. Weekly dinners with friends at Mancy’s Steakhouse was a favorite of his.
Throughout his life, Al owned many businesses such as Heather Downs Country Club, Glasstic Water Bottle, pHion Balance.
Al will be greatly missed by those of us still here. We choose to remember him bowling, golfing, dancing with his beloved wife, and spending time with his sister.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2026 at Toledo Memorial Park at 12:30 pm. A gathering will follow at Georgios Grill, Sylvania, OH at 2:00 pm.
The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to Kortney Seale for her compassionate care. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Al's name to the St. Francis High School Scholarship Fund.
