Robert Edward Levey

Robert E. Levey of Toledo died early in the morning on July 6, 2017 at his home. He was born on October 22, 1942 in Toledo, Ohio to Ruby and Irene Levey. He graduated from Ottawa Hills High School in 1960 and received his Bachelor of Science in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania in 1964. After, he went on to The Ohio State University, where he received his Master of Business Administration in 1966, followed by his Juris Doctor in 1969, graduating cum laude. 

In 1967 Bob began working at the Foster Bros., Weber & Co. brokerage house, becoming a partner in 1972. This was the beginning of a successful career as a financial advisor that continued for the next 50 years. Every one of the countless clients whom he counseled will remember Bob as humble, thoughtful, and brilliant. Working with the financial markets and advising clients brought him daily joy and interesting challenges. He was a generous, yet private person, actively working to maintain respectful relationships with every person he advised. Bob never had plans to retire and he continued working at Wells Fargo Advisors until his passing. 

Bob was married to Patricia Devolder for almost 35 years. In 1986 their daughter Morgan was born. As a family, they were fortunate to be able to travel the globe together. They, along with friends, will remember him for his wry sense of humor and his loving, supportive nature. Bob enjoyed bridge, running, skiing, tennis, racquetball and walking his dog. While he liked most sports, he loved watching The Ohio State Buckeyes play football.  

Bob is survived by his wife, Patricia Levey, and their daughter Morgan Levey. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ruby and Irene Levey, and in-laws Maurice and Pauline Devolder.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that friends spread the memory of his generosity by making a donation to the Toledo Symphony or to the charity of their choice. There will be a private gathering for family and close friends.
