Dear Donna and Family, While there is sadness with Ray's passing at such a "young" age (I'm also 79), there is rejoicing in heaven as his soul is joined with all of those who have gone before him, and so we also rejoice that we will see him again, as we remain strong in our faith in the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Ray was a leader in the Michigan KOA owners association, and it was a joy to have known him and you. I think of you anytime that we have the privilege of driving past the business that you built together, as we travel US 23 on visits to family in Ohio. God be with you and give you peace at this time. Norma & Carl Oxley, builder and former owner of Mackinaw City KOA.

Ray was a classmate of mine at Blissfield High School. We graduated together in 1956. I so remember Ray as a tall lad from the farm, that our basketball Coach Lew saw a lot of potential for the team. He took Ray aside in our gym classes and helped him learn the basics to the game. Ray was a star center on our team. Ray was a star in many ways, a gentleman, a hard worker and a man of God. I was so glad to have seen him at our class reunion last summer. Ray led the prayer for our gathering and we were so blessed by his presence. May our Lord give you all strength and peace during your time of mourning.

It was my great honor and privilege to know Ray. He was man of faith with a great philosophy, in many ways larger-than-life. I feel the loss of Ray keenly, knowing that I won't be having those great conversations with him until the other side of eternity. What a great family he had! My prayers are with you all in your grief.

We are lifting up your family in prayer this week as you celebrate Ray's life! Bob has many fond memories of Ray going back to high school. He loved his conversations with Ray about farming and the Lord as they would travel up north to go snowmobiling. Great memories! God bless you all!
