Melissa Katherine (Brubaker) Abner

Melissa K. Brubaker – Abner, 32, of Toledo, OH, passed away, Sunday, October 22, 2017, at The Toledo Hospital.

Melissa was employed with Promedica as a Medical Code Specialist, and Surgery Scheduler for the Cardiothoracic Surgeons of Northwest Ohio. She was also pursuing a Forensic Criminology Degree at the University of Toledo.

Melissia served as an organizer, mentor, secretary and booster for the Jackman Elementary School Yellowjackets.

She looked forward to spending weekends at Posey Lake with her Uncle Rich, Aunt Mary, and her children. Melissa also enjoyed camping at the KOA and arranging family events.

She is survived by her parents Donald Brubaker Jr. and Melanie (Lay) Brubaker; amazing husband Jim Abner; beautiful children Stephanie, Brandon, and Heaven Abner, Oliva Brubaker, Andrew and Caleb Worley and Morgan and Grace Abner; sisters Megan and Molly Brubaker; nieces Alayah and Alexah; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Melissa was preceded in death by her brother Chad Brubaker.

Friends may call at the Reeb Funeral Home, 5712 N. Main St. Sylvania, OH, Sunday, October 29th from 2 – 9 PM, where Funeral Services will be held Monday at 11 AM.

Melissa was a champion for all children, she was always willing to donate her time and energy for their benefit and wellbeing.  She will forever be loved!
